Two individuals are now facing charges in connection with a suitcase robbery where a believed to be irritant spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and charges for deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.

These accusations come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after exiting a car park lift, authorities reported.

A three-year-old girl was one of the people hurt in the event. Five people were taken to a medical facility and were eventually allowed to go home.

The incident – described by police as was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – led to disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
