Reports indicate that fan-favorite stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will reprise their iconic roles in the latest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The project is now in the works.
An Important Reunion for Fans
The duo are returning as Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the roles they originated. It is believed their appearance will probably be featured in a future-set scene, given that the original saga concluded with their characters settled into family life.
This signifies the sixth installment in the highly successful Hunger Games franchise.
The Source Material
Sunrise on the Reaping draws its story from a recent book by author Suzanne Collins. It acts as the second prequel film after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. For this project is Francis Lawrence, who directed the majority of the previous films in the series.

The film's narrative are set roughly two decades prior to the first Hunger Games, spotlighting a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, later known as Katniss's mentor, is shown as a tribute in the brutal 50th Hunger Games.
