The children's author David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

The comedian

Prolific young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

An official for the company commented: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of questionable actions directed at female individuals.

The company did not confirm the reasons for its decision, adding: "We do not comment on internal matters."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies globally in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works combined, which features a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
