Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Claims Connected to Player Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement Wednesday night stating they are aware of domestic violence allegations made public in social media posts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver the athlete and were in communication with the NFL.
The team did not mention the player specifically in their statement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

The woman, who likewise did not name the athlete by name, posted a set of images on social media that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. She did say the individual in question was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.

No official complaints were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have occurred.
Rice's Prior Off-Field Troubles
The receiver missed the initial part of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that resulted in multiple people injured. Rice was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
On the field, he finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs went with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a ten-year span.
